Principals
Brian Nofzinger, CPA, Managing Partner
Brian’s practice focus is on audit and attestation services with emphasis on business management and financial planning services. His client base consists of manufacturing, contracting, agricultural; non-profit organizations and small businesses. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a corporate accountant for a multi-national manufacturing business.
Daniel T Brown, CPA
Dan received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Defiance College in 2007 and upon graduation joined the firm. Dan provides accounting and tax services on a variety of engagements. He specializes in CFO services, attestation, and tax return preparation services for corporations and individuals. His client base consists of professionals, manufacturing, construction contractors, and the cannabis industry.
James Parker, CPA
Jim joined the firm in 1980 upon his graduation from Western Michigan University. He has responsibility for the firm’s adherence to technical accounting and tax pronouncements. Jim works primarily with clients in the manufacturing and construction industries.
Caroline Lowe, CPA
Caroline received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Michigan State University. She owned and operated her accounting firm in Coldwater Mi for over 40 years. She merged with the firm in 2024. She works primarily in providing tax preparation & planning, as well as, accounting services for small businesses.

Ashley Britton, CPA
Ashley received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Siena Heights University and has been with the firm since 2017. She provides tax and CFO services for corporations, attestation, as well as bookkeeping and payroll compliance for small businesses. She is familiar with multiple accounting and bookkeeping systems. She also provides tax planning and preparation services for individuals.
Drew Gietzen, CPA
Drew received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Siena Heights University in 2011 and joined the firm upon graduation. He provides auditing, attestation, and taxation services on a variety of engagements including not-for-profits. He also provides tax preparation services for business, individuals, not-for-profits, and governmental entities.
Keagan Kennedy, CPA
Keagan is a recent graduate from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting. He joined the firm in 2017 soon after graduating and is currently studying for the CPA exam. Keagan provides CFO services, accounting, attestation, and tax services for- profit organizations. He also provides accounting and tax preparation services for individuals and is familiar with many accounting and bookkeeping systems.
Trey Conrad
Trey received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Accounting from Northwood University in 2017. He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program at Spring Arbor University and plans on working toward CPA licensure upon completion. He provides auditing, attestation, and taxation services on a variety of engagements including not-for-profits. He also provides tax preparation services for businesses, individuals, and not-for-profits.
Doug Carpenter
Doug received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University in 1994. He has worked in the private sector of accounting for 15 years, holding various roles within 2 corporations and has been working in the public sector of accounting for the last 15 years. He joined the firm in 2024 with the recent purchase of the Coldwater office. He provides tax and CFO services for corporations, partnerships, attestation, as well as bookkeeping and payroll services for businesses. He is familiar with multiple accounting and bookkeeping systems including QuickBooks. He also provides tax planning and preparation services for individuals.
Staff Accountants
Jessica Fisher
Jessica received her Accounting degree from Eastern Michigan University and has been with Brown & Nofzinger since 2020. She provides tax services for individuals and corporations, attestation, as well as bookkeeping and payroll compliance for small businesses. She is familiar with multiple accounting and bookkeeping systems.
Jack Kopplin
Jack is a recent graduate from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting. He joined the firm in 2023 soon after graduating and is currently studying for the CPA exam. Jack provides accounting and tax services for- profit organizations. He also provides accounting and tax preparation services for individuals and is familiar with many accounting and bookkeeping systems.
Carl Alcaide
Carl received his Associate’s Degree in accounting at Jackson College. He is currently enrolled at Siena Heights University for his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Carl was an intern for 6 months before being hired as a full-time staff accountant. He provides tax preparation services for individuals and businesses. He also provides bookkeeping, and payroll compliance for small businesses.

Taylor Wilber
Taylor began her career her senior year of High School in 2019, joining our company through the Careers Center as an On-The-Job Training student. She is a recent graduate from Kellogg Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Since then, she has been dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and maintaining an organized and inviting front desk experience with a smile to greet you! Taylor currently does our client billing and monthly bookkeeping, along with writing payroll. She is eager to learn more and will begin entering tax returns in the near future.
Marie Wilber
Marie has over 52 years of tax and accounting experience. Her career started in 1971, when she began working for her mother, Frances. Over the years, she has gained knowledge in the accounting industry, where she has worked with numerous clients to optimize their taxes. She provides financial services to individuals and businesses, including tax preparation and planning, as well as financial statement preparation.
Renee White
Renee White received an associate’s degree from International Business College. She joined Caroline Lowe, CPA/Nichols Accounting in 1994. She has spent much of her time providing payroll processing for their many clients. This includes the monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, filing of the tax payments, W2 and 1099 processing at the year end. Included in her knowledge over the years is the monthly bookkeeping
Support Staff
Jerri Boone
Jerri has over 35 year’s experience providing exceptional customer services to clients on all levels of services they need. She uses her organizational skills to ensure smooth, efficient and accurate operations in a busy work environment. Many times, she is the voice you hear on the phone and the person who initially assists you with your inquiries when you arrive at our office. Jerri manages client billing, accounts receivables and provides notary services.
Mary Nixon
Mary Nixon joined GPGR in 2015 and focuses on bookkeeping, quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, sales tax return processing, advocate for Clients with State of Michigan online websites and assists clients in penalty and interest abatements, annual 1099 reporting, and payroll services coordination. With her 20 plus years of owning and operating her own business she has helped Clients to understand some of the concerns regarding self-employment. She is a member of the South Central Human Resource Management Association (SCHRMA) the local chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The resources, compliance, and best practices for Employers is valuable to all Clients large and small. Mary worked previously for a non-profit organization over 18 years as the Business manager/Human Resources Director. She enjoys working in her garden outside and spending time with her 5 Grandchildren.
